I think she did not like the sound of the water coming out of the hose.

Two cloned beagle puppies

Hi,

Two cloned beagle puppies named as 'Magic' and 'Stem' sleep at a lab of a South Korean biotech firm, RNL Bio.

RNL Bio said on it has developed a new method to clone dogs using stem cells derived from fat tissue that greatly increases the likelihood of success.

The two cloned beagle puppies were born on January 27.

Picture taken January 28.

Well, just as much as I love Jack my beagle...... I would not want to clone him but rather have good memories of our lives together...

When people ask us how many children we have?

Our reply is one son and 2 dogs!

Ooops... I think you will have a problem reading it.....!

In short, a dog is not just a dog but so much more than that and only dog owners will appreciate what it is to have dogs!

Jack And Ruby Waiting For Our Return

Hi,

I took this photo of Jack and Ruby waiting for us to return home.

Normally, Ruby and Jack would rush to the gate but I told them to stay so that I could take this photo.

Jack likes to lie between the wall and his crate, more cosy and protected......?

Ruby would be behind the crate and hidden unless she gets distracted by passby, etc......

So cute....!

Obese Beagle Goes On Diet

Hi,

Jack my beagle could end up like the obese beagle reported below if we do not watch how much he eats as Jack has a bottomless pit... ha..ha....

A dog so obese he is unable to walk has been being placed on an extreme low-fat diet by vets.

Patch weighed 28kg when he was brought in to the Dogs Trust centre in Glasgow just before Christmas after his owner passed away.

His legs could not support his weight - roughly equivalent to an eight-year-old child - so he had to be carried around in a special harness.

The centre's staff want to get the six-year-old Beagle Cross into shape.

Their aim over the next few months is to slim him down to a more manageable 15kg.

Patch's weight leaves him at grave risk of developing heart failure, diabetes, liver disease, pancreatitis or arthritis.

Dogs that have been overfed can exercise to reduce their weight - what has happened with Patch is that his weight has prevented him exercising

However, he risks organ failure if he loses weight too quickly.

Staff are therefore placing him on a gradual exercise programme, consisting of short daily walks in his harness and hydrotherapy sessions.

So please do not over-feed your dogs .....!

Drying Up After A Bath

Hi,

Here are a few photos taken of Jack and Ruby drying up under the sun after they were given a bath.

Jack must be enjoying the sun, even lifted up his hind leg....ha..ha...ha....

Ruby has quite a thick fur so drying her under the sun is much easier, after useing a towel to dry her as much as possible.

Otherwise, she would run around the garden and make a mess of herself.........

Jack And Ruby With Treats

Hi,

Mummy feeding Ruby some treat.

While Mummy was still holding the treat, Ruby will bite it slowly.

But once you release it, Ruby would snap at you if you put your hand into the crate.

She thinks that you are taking the treat away from her....?

Jack does not care what you do to him as long as he is biting on his treat.

See my hand patting him.......

You risk getting your hand bitten if you do this to Ruby..!

So we always put Ruby in her metallic crate so that she could enjoy her treat peacefully and not fear that Jack will snatch her treat.

Otherwise, a dog fight could be the result if it happens....!

Jack In His Own Crate

Hi,

I have writing about Jack going into Ruby's small crate and going to his favourite shade under the palm tree in the garden.

I managed to take a photo of Jack resting in his own big crate, finally.




The crate is so big that even Ruby can go inside it too.



No wonder Jack does not find it so cosy and seldom uses it.

























Ruby likes to laze around the big crate and only go into her crate at night or when we put her there when it is raining with thunder and lightning.

Jack Drinking Water

Hi,

Jason & I saw a documentary on cable TV on how the dogs use their tongue to drink water recently.

I suppose all of us think that they curl up their tongue to carry the water into their mouths, right?

The TV documentary film showed a dog drinking water and then slowed down the motion to see exactly how the dog did it.

So guess what actually happened....?

Instead of curling up its tongue, it actually did it the other way round; ie curling its tongue downwards instead.






















I happened to take a photo of Jack drinking his water and got it enlarged to show it to you. It was coincidental as I was just shooting a few photos and this one turned out quite good.

Ruby Eating Grass

Hi,

Happened to catch Ruby eating grass one afternoon recently .......

Called Ruby and she came running towards the window...

Good girl..!

Apparently, she was not feeling well and ate some grass whoch she vomitted later on. The dogs seem to do this to help themsleves with their tummy problem....?

Jack does it too.......
