More Pedigree Dogs Abandoned

The above news was reported in all the local papers, here in Singapore.

In summary, the total number of dogs abandoned has increased, an average of about 126 pedigree dogs abandoned or lost each month last year.

Owners frequently gave the reason that they have no time to look after their pet dogs. Other reasons included owners having to move house.

Please think carefully before getting a pet and not get a pet dog on impluse.

I actually know friends who bought pet dog for their kids because they asked for one but the parents themselves do not like dogs so the chances of their abandoning their pet dogs are likely to happen. Sad to say, most of them gave their dogs away eventually.

So please be a responsible dog owner!

Jack My Beagle - Training Certificate

We got instructors to help us train Jack to follow the basic commands like Sit, Stay, Heel, Down and Stay as we have never trained a dog before and we wanted to do it the right way. We were alwyas working late during that period and we want to make sure we know how to handle Jack properly.

The instructor, Lance, specilises in Beagle dogs and he was trained in USA. Lance brought along another trainer too; so we got 2 trainers for the price of one!

We were issued the certificate below at the end of the training session.

This is a slideshow of Jason playing with Jack when he was only 4 years old and Jack about 1 year old.

Jack was really good for kids like Jason.

You will notice that Jason was holding on to a raw hide bone and feeding Jack. Jack has never snatched it from him.

Both of them grew up together all these years .....

We bought Jack in Aug 1998 but he was born in Melbourne on 27 April 1998.

Jason was 4 years old when we got Jack the Beagle.

Jack is quite long being a 4 months old puppy with drooping ears...... so cute!

The Dog, The Cat & The Rat

Jack & Ruby always bark at cats, not to mention frogs that somehow appear in our garden in the evening or after rain in the evening....

Ruby also has sensitive ears too as she barks at airplanes flying by, high up in the sky, thunder and lightning and the ringing bell on my son's bicycle...?

1st Day of Chinese New Year with our Dogs

Well, Jack and Ruby did not get 'ang pow' or the traditional red packets with money but they were given dog treats instead.
